Barack Hussein Obama

Please watch this video.

Then go to this link and read the "Jihad Candidate" by Rich Carroll.

I think every American should be very concerned. But, maybe that is because I am just a "typical white person"?

When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice.
But when the wicked are in power, they groan.

Just having Wright as his pastor for so many years turns my stomach.

Corrie,
I tried to watch the video but it shuts down my browser! haha

I read the article and I don't know what to make of it.
I'm not in America. I am not into politics and I don't want to show it to my husband because he is very much into end times conspiracies. Don't want to go there...

I wish I could see the video.. maybe it will work on my husband's laptop.

The article was interesting. I'm inclined not to think about it because there's little I can do about it. My policy with politics and end-times is to keep my eyes open and stay grounded in God. I have three very young children and if I entertain thoughts about what might be, I just want to dig us a hole and hide.

Maybe I'm just overreacting.

Corrie, this video was ostensibly produced by these guys, who hail from Durham, NC, and who bill themselves as an "entertainment company, a political group, and a religious experience":
http://illuminati.tv/

Here's more from "Illuminati" TV:

http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/channel.aspx?ChannelID=13

They also have a Christian film school:
www.burnisgood.com.

I wonder just what their connection is to VisionForum?

And as if all this isn't weird enough, here's where the clip of Obama "refusing to place his hand over his heart for the Pledge of Allegience" comes from:
http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=3759803
According to the Washington Post, the video "was taken on September 16, 2007, at Senator Tom Harkin's annual steak fry festivities in Iowa, an important ritual for Democratic presidential hopefuls. Contrary to the e-mails attacking Obama for disrespecting the flag, the candidates were not reciting the pledge of allegiance. They were standing for the national anthem.

People who bill themselves as "political organizations" are using slick internet ads to spread deliberate lies while calling themselves "religious", and are teaching young people to do the same.
You're not kidding -- we should be VERY concerned.

corrie--

you can reach conclusions based on evidence, and on emotional need. this film seems to have little to do with evidnece, and much to do with emotional need.

what emotions does this film elicit from you? and if the conclusions in the film are not based on evidnece, what emotional needs does this satisfy for you?

peace--

Cynthia,

Well, you have certainly given me a lot to look into.

I don't know what relationship they have with Vision Forum but I will definitely look into it. I can't find any connections in the 10 minutes I looked. I even looked up the individual faculty members and I see no connection to VF but that doesn't mean there isn't.

I knew it was the national anthem and not the pledge they were singing but don't we traditionally put our hand over our heart while we sing that?

"The US Code (Titles 4 and 36) specifies four circumstances for rendering the hand-over-heart salute:

1. When the US flag is raised or lowered
2. When the US flag is carried past in a review or parade
3. When reciting the pledge of allegiance
4. When the national anthem is played

The saluter should face the flag in all cases. If the national anthem is played when the flag is not displayed, the saluter should face the source of the music."

I thought all Americans knew this? If a person has lived in America for any length of time and has gone to a ballgame or two, they know that people put their hand over the heart as a sign of respect for the flag because we are singing about America and the flag. Why didn't Obama know this?

Also, her removed the flag pin from his lapel that is customarily worn by politicians.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/04/obamaflagpinlap.html

I want to know that the next president is at the very lest very pro-America.

I am concerned about Obama because of his pro-abortion stance and his socialistic political stance and those are just two of many things that concern me.

What are the deliberate lies people are spreading about Obama?

Hi Scott,

Thanks for stopping by.

I haven't reached my conclusions about Obama based on emotion.

I am not confident that he is really for America and the principles that this country was founded upon.

He is also extremely pro-abortion and opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion. That alone is cause enough to be concerned.

"what emotions does this film elicit from you? and if the conclusions in the film are not based on evidnece, what emotional needs does this satisfy for you?"

I don't know if I had an emotional reaction from the film. I will have to watch it again. I thought it was informative and gave more insight into the person of Obama.

Emotional need this is satisfying for me?

To warn people about him and that it is my duty to do so.

His foreign policy, his taxation policy, his pro-abort policy, his connections with the most extreme and radical and dare I say racist.

I will do some more research on this video and production company.

What in the video was disturbing for you?

Hmm, I learned something today. I was taught in school that one was just supposed to stand up for the anthem, and place the hand over the heart for the Pledge. I noticed that one other fellow in the ABC clip was also simply standing at attention, maybe he and Obama, like me, were taught wrong etiquette.
As for flag pins, I don't wear them either. A lot of people around here wear flag pins, have flag bumper stickers, etc, etc, etc., and in my experience, far too many of these folks are of the "America, my country right or wrong" camp, and it sets my teeth on edge. What's more, over in DC, political people who don't wear a flag pin any other time suddenly start sporting them every election year. Blech.

Hi Cindy,

Well, I am certainly not in the "America right or wrong" camp and I don't wear a flag pin, either. But, I am not a politician and it is a customary tradition to wear flag pins when you are campaigning.

Is it a big deal? No, but with other info factored in, I think we should be wary. These are just my thoughts on the whole thing. We are in a climate where we need to know that our President is 100% for America.

Do we know that with Obama?

I can't see Obama's heart, Corrie, but Bush was 100% American, and so was Clinton, and look where they got us. Obama is a bit liberal, and I'm not sure I'm voting for him, but he's been in Congress for some time, and prior to his running for president nobody was circulating emails about him or making videos questioning whether he's an American. That in itself tells me quite a lot.

Also, here's more info about the operator of "illuminati tv"-- he sounds like a first class nut:

I'm not Corrie but I hope she doesn't mind if I chime in here.

CJ: "he's been in Congress for some time, and prior to his running for president nobody was circulating emails about him....".

Actually, he's been in the Senate for 2 years. As for the lack of negative publicity...he barely got to Washington DC before he began running for President. In fact, I think you can go back to his DNC speech after John Kerry was nominated to hear him positioning himself already. You could also say that George Bush, John Kerry, John McCain, et al didn't get negative publicity, emails or videos made about them until they began to run for President either.

The fact of the matter is that he elicits an "emotional" response from people either positively or negatively. It baffles me how many people are wowed by a man who has virtually no record and little qualifications. Yes, he's an inspiring (if you share his viewpoints) orator but have you heard him stammer when he's not reading a prompter? Yes Bush is a stammerer and he's mutilated the English language many times but how is it that Obama "gets away" with it? (That's a rhetorical question along the same lines as how can he, a Liberal, talk about his religion so often and no be beat upon the head with separation of church and state talk?)

I speak for myself when I say that Obama gives me a negative emotional response in the following ways:

- Because he views Iran as a "small threat"
- He has only spoken of the Iraq war in two ways...1) He was against it from the beginning and 2) he'd be out within X days of becoming President.
- He's endorsed by the leaders of Hammas.
- His affiliations with Rev. Wright, Rev. Pflager, etc. His angry wife and the overall tone of anti-white, anti-Jew that seems to always seem to be an issue.
- His "seal" he used on his podium last week that was a knock-off of the Presidential seal. His arrogance is befuddling.
- His pro-abortion, pro-partial birth abortion stance.
- His willingness to continue to rely on foreign sources of oil while taxing US oil companies (which will be passed on to us at the pump...again)and NO taxation of the foreign oil companies.

I'll stop because I think you get the gist of why people are "scared" of a potential Obama Presidency.

Thanks Seesta! ;-) I am glad you joined in the conversation. It was very informative.

CJ,

I hear what you are saying, I really do. I do think we need to be very wary of Obama. On his partial birth abortion/abortion stance, alone, I, as a Christian, cannot vote for him in good conscience. His socialist agenda is another reason why I will not vote for him.

I will look at the illumaniti link when I get a chance.

He may be a nut but what did he get wrong in the video?

I love when people who are clearly not from Chicago want to yammer on about Wright and Pflager.

So, let's get some things straight, shall we?

1) how many of Wright's sermons have you seen in their entirety? None? Yeah, more than likely.

1a) How often does your own pastor get "off message"? More than once? Yeah, more than likely.

2) How many people here "worried about Wright" have lived as a black man on the south side of Chicago? None? Yeah, more than likely.

YOU live with the racial intolerance that the folks in Hyde Park/Kenmore and South Shore have to deal with ON A DAILY BASIS, and tell me how you would react.

His theology is off, but so is the theology of any Assemblies of God church, so I certainly hope that you'll make the same inflammatory statements about their fake tongue talking.

3) Socialistic policies...more socialistic than Huckabee's policies? Not likely. Obama's health care policy only mandates that there'd be an optional health care plan set up by the government for those that don't have insurance. He's still for free trade, still relatively pro-business and still all for defending personal freedoms.

4) Worried that he doesn't love America very much? Seriously folks, the people who question the government the most are usually the ones that love their country the most. I'd much rather have someone in office that's motivated to work than someone who thinks that a president's duties is to slash and burn the federal budget.

The uninformed comments I've seen here define the quote "a democracy gets the government it deserves."

You've got him on the abortion issue. And, if you're a single issue voter, that's enough.
